History of the Indiana Chapter
The chapter was formed in the fall of 1982 at an organizational meeting with 10 PNP/PNAs present at the Indiana University School of Nursing. The constitution and bylaws were adopted, dues were set at $10.00 per year, officers were elected and the petition for a chapter charter was sent to the National office. The ten charter members were: Karen Barnes, Julie Conrad, Patty Halloran, Beth Richardson, Matt Richardson, Nancy Orcutt, Kathy Saeger, Jan Shaver, Paula Stanfill and Brenda Zoltak.

The first officers were: President, Patty Halloran; Vice-President, Beth Richardson; Secretrary, Kathy Saeger; Treasurer, Julie Conrad; Program Chair, Beth Richardson; Public Relations, Julie Conrad; Membership, Paula Stanfill; Constitution/Bylaws, Nancy Orcutt

The Executive Board of NAPNAP approved the chapter petition and accepted the Indiana Chapter as its 23rd chapter affiliate on March 24, 1983. Membership has fluctuated over the years from the ten charter members to as high as 65 members. Involvement in the chapter activities has also varied widely with most members only attending the annual conference.

Past Presidents of the chapter have been Beth Richardson, Patti Halloran (2 terms), Candy Zickler, Julie LaMothe, Sherry Sims, Linda Gilman, Anne Hennefent, Debbie Davis (2 terms), Nancy Orcutt, Susan Mourouzis, Beth Snyder, Betsy Joyce and Susan Rains.
